Vivo successfully turns Instagram likes into cash for the homeless

An average of nearly 100 million selfies are taken daily around the world. That number feels a bit much, but you can’t really blame anyone for taking so many selfies because it’s really fun—especially if armed with the right phone. Even a famous athlete like Steph Curry admits that he can’t help but shoot selfies regularly with his Vivo V5 Plus, the phone that’s capable of taking the perfect selfie. A lot of us may be taking too many selfies daily; but sometimes, doing so contributes to a good cause. Last month, Vivo, one of the top 5 premium smartphone brands in the world, held the very first #VivoPerfectSelfieCup. Premier local celebrities Jessy Mendiola, Enchong Dee, Erich Gonzales, Yeng Constantino, Andrea Brillantes, Jane Oineza, Sue Ramirez, Miles Ocampo, Maris Racal, and Loisa Andalio joined this digital campaign that not only aimed to create next-level selfies using the Vivo V5 Plus, but also help a charity. Each like received by their selfies is equivalent to a P1 donation to Habitat for Humanity Philippines, an organization that envisions a world where everyone has a decent place to live. And the campaign was a success! The selfies generated a total of 101,980 likes, which means P101,980 will be donated to help build new homes for Filipino families. Vivo expresses its sincerest gratitude to everyone who participated in the #VivoPerfectSelfieCup. Habitat for humanity photo
